Do you own a Gripsport GS2 Vehicle bike rack and have recently purchased a caravan or camper and need to carry your bikes with limited space? Our conversion kit allows full access to items on your drawbar without the need to remove bikes or the rack. It allows full access to items on your drawbar, also the ability to pull out beds and open large front boots without the need to remove the rack. It can also be used on any standard setup where you simply would like more access.

Our GS2 Van Rack with Mid-Post Tilting Mechanism is only compatible with Gripsport GS2 Adventure and trike racks. It is not compatible with the GS4 Vehicle or Urban series racks.

Note: The Cross Member is OPTIONAL and NOT supplied with this kit. See info further below regarding converting a GS2 Vehicle rack into a 4 bike van rack.

Gripsport have recently release a new product, the Universal Cross Member for DIY fitment of their Gripsport van racks. If your caravan drawbar is compatible with one of the four sizes available simply select the correct size cross member. If your drawbar is clear from any taps, hoses, gas bottles, brackets, boxes etc, the Universal Cross Member will bolt into position. Note: Some items may have to be moved on your drawbar to make the UCM fit. If you are unsure please contact us to clarify, (we will require some photos and measurements of your drawbar). Note: A suitable cross member is required to fit the Bolt on Mount. If your caravan drawbar DOESN’T have a suitable cross member, select the Universal Cross Member (UCM) from the selections if compatible with your drawbar. If the UCM is not compatible, the kit comes complete with “saddles” and a custom cross member can be welded to them. Check out our Fitting Guide for further information.

CLEARANCE HEIGHTS FOR POST KITS

The following are the clearance heights from the top of the drawbar to the underside of the van rack pinch bolts.
WITH GRIPSPORT TILTING MECHANISM ATTACHED
Maximum Clearance: 885mm
Minimum Clearance: 560mm
WITH GRIPSPORT NON-TILTING MECHANISM ATTACHED
Maximum Clearance: 840mm
Minimum Clearance: 500mm

Q: Can I convert my Gripsport GS2 Vehicle rack into a 4 bike caravan rack?

A: Yes you can, the GS2 Vehicle rack assembly slides off the vehicle adapter and fits on the van rack assembly. The Gripsport 4 Bike Van Rack Conversion is fully compatible with your existing vehicle rack. Simply choose the van rack either with a fixed or tilting mechanism. Note: A suitable cross member is required to fit the Bolt on Mount. Select the Universal Cross Member (UCM) from the selections if compatible with your drawbar. If the UCM is not compatible, the kit comes complete with “saddles” and a custom cross member can be welded to them. Check out our Fitting Guide for further information.
