Many guy rope kits in today’s market offers an adjustable slide of some sort, the problem with these adjustable slides is that they can loosen with continued wind buffeting or break and need to be retightened.

The exact strength of guy rope slides is not known as most manufacturers don’t specify or test the actual slip or breaking strength. When an RV awning, tent or tarpaulin is subjected to high wind loads the last thing you want is an adjustable slide loosening or breaking.
