wHAT'S A BUSH PEG™?

The BUSH PEG™ is a super heavy duty RV awning & camping peg. Measuring a whopping 400mm long, this Aussie made 40x40 x 5mm angle iron peg will last you a lifetime. Don’t take risks when securing your gear. BUSH PEGS™ won’t bend, break or move. Made from mega thick 5mm Aussie steel and manufactured in Western Australia the BUSH PEG™ is the strongest peg available in today’s RV & camping market.
With our fully welded Knobhead and a super sharp 30° vertex, the BUSH PEG™ will penetrate any ground and has brilliant ground holding ability. The super sharp point maybe be a pain to cut and expensive to manufacture but it will penetrate just about anything.
At 400mm long the BUSH PEG™ is an orange monster. that won't bend or break.
Our heavy duty guy rope kits with our hardcore trace springs complete the BUSH PEG™ kits (more info below) and will ensure your gear is tied down properly. Bush Pegs™ are extremely easy to remove, there are no special tools required. Super strong, the BUSH PEG™ will last you a lifetime.

Every guy rope kit in today’s market offer an adjustable slide of some sort, the problem with these adjustable slides is that they can loosen with continued wind buffeting and often need to be retightened. The exact strength of guy rope slides or standard guy rope trace springs is not known as the manufacturers don’t specify. When an RV awning is subjected to high wind loads the last thing you want is a trace spring breaking or an adjustable slide loosening or breaking.
Although we only use trace springs when the ground is soft, we have never used adjustable slides with the BUSH PEG™, we'd rather you tie a decent knot! Although we are well aware that they are widely used and accepted in today’s market.
That’s why at Bush Chook RV & Leisure we have introduced custom made heavy duty guy rope kits, two of which have a heavy duty trace spring and one has a new generation rope polymer slide to help compliment the BUSH PEG™.
This is the traditional setup for most RV'ers and campers utilising a trace spring and adjustable slide (above) but the slide is not our preferred method here at Bush Chook.

BUSH PEG™ GUY ROPE KITS

Because our BUSH PEGS™ aren't your typical pegs we knew we had to supply a super strong guy rope kit to suit. Our heavy duty BUSH PEG™ guy rope kits suit RV awnings and heavy duty tent/tarpaulin applications.
Our Guy Ropes with hand woven eye splice won’t separate under high load like a metal crimp. At 5 metres long they have plenty of length to complete a truckies knot (as per our recommendation) for high tension. Our complete Guy Rope Kits are much stronger than what you'll find in a camping store. Our kits will have no problems tieing down your RV awning or camping gear securely.
We have thoroughly tested a range of guy rope slides and the new Age Ploymer slides (above) gave the best results for strength and maintaining rope tension.
Although we’ve never used adjustable slides with the BUSH PEG™ (we’d rather you tie a decent knot), at Bush Chook RV & Leisure we understand that nomads like to keep things simple so we have added this kit to our range. After testing, the New Generation Polymer slide gave the best results for non-slippage. These are the only guy rope kits we sell with adjustable slides.
You can tie off BUSH PEGS™ with or without a trace spring or use an adjustable slide.
NOTE: All BUSH PEG™ kits are supplied with 5 metres of guy rope, this will have to be shortened if using a slide.
A typical BUSH PEG™ setup (as above) will ensure your awning doesn't move.
